“I woke up to no hot water last weekend and immediately dreaded what I might find in the basement… of course I go down and see a few puddles leading to the water heater.  The 7-year old 30 gal. unit was leaking from the top vent hose as well as the bottom!  I got a phone quote from one company that gave a reasonable price for a new 40 gal. unit, but wanted to charge extra for any gas line movement and for a new vent – basically, if it wasn’t a straight swap, which it wasn’t going to be since I was going from 30 to 40 gal, I was going to be charged an unspecified extra amount.

I then called Pinzone Plumbing at about 9:30AM and spoke to Sal.  He came by within 20 minutes and helped me shut off water to the tank itself (I had shut off water to the main beforehand) and drained the unit.  He then gave me a quote for a new 40 gal. unit that was lower than the other company and included gas line work and a new vent hood to the chimney.  I agreed on the spot and he returned within an hour with the new unit.  By 12:30PM I had a new 40 gallon unit with a 12-year warranty installed.  He even gave me a tip to drain out some of tank once a year to keep scale from building up on the inside bottom of the unit.

Sal was very professional, fast, and cleaned up after the install.  I’d use his services again without hesitation.”

“A couple of phone calls to make an appointment, then a Pinzone plumber (not owner) added fittings to the water supply pipes in my kitchen to match and install a Kohler faucet and dish detergent dispenser that I supplied. After the installation by Pinzone, the faucet head usually retracted after pulling it out to spray the sink, so I adjusted the weighting to make it retract easily and reliably. Now after 4+ years this faucet and dispenser are still working perfectly. And there’s absolutely no dripping under the sink, which had been a minor problem in the previous plumbing setup. This $120 installation turned out to be a great value.”

“Sal rushed over to help us with a faucet issue, and was super nice.  A great guy, and a great plumber.  He went out of his way and put a little extra work into it.  He even took his shoes off at the door. 

He also helped us plan out some future work that we intend to have him do.  The previous owners of our condo did some ‘creative’ plumbing, and while not bad, didn’t make the best choices for the long term.  Sal had some great suggestions about how to make things last a bit longer, and how things can be installed in such a way that we can take care of routine maintenance ourselves instead of having to call him for small issues.

“I was looking to get a water-powered sump pump installed, so I sent out pictures and a short list of what I wanted done to about 12 different plumbers via email.

I got a prompt and helpful answer from Sal, was able to setup an early morning (7.30!) appointment for a free estimate. He showed up on time, explained why it was a bad idea to install a water-powered sump… and recommended getting a generator instead.

While he was there, I asked for an estimate to install a shut-off valve after the mains water meter (I would not trust the old one before the meter). He gave a fair estimate for the valve and also suggested another ‘drain tap’ to drain water in case I wanted to empty the house pipes.

He turned up the next day (a bit late, but hey.. its an early morning appointment, didnt find anyone else who takes one), did a clean job and did not mind the ton of questions I had for him. He was done in time for both of us to head to work. Professional behavior and professional workmanship, and at a reasonable price.”
